Germany Claims Victory in Longines League of Nations in Ocala!

The Longines League of Nations in Ocala delivered an intense competition where national pride and equestrian skill combined to create a thrilling event. Germany emerged victorious in the Nations Cup, showcasing exceptional teamwork and precision. Their collective effort resulted in a total of just 4 faults across two rounds, securing a clear win. Ireland and Belgium followed on the podium, with 8 and 12 faults respectively, highlighting an exciting competition.


Germany’s Winning Team and Performance


The German team demonstrated remarkable consistency and control throughout the competition. The squad included Andre Thieme, Christian Kukuk, Richard Vogel, and Rene Dittmer. Each rider contributed with great rounds, reflecting their experience and synergy as a team.


  • Andre Thieme had one down in the first round and clear in the second round with DSP Chakaria.

  • Christian Kukuk maintained composure, and jumped double clear with his Olympic partner Checker 47.

  • Richard Vogel showed precision in navigating Cloudio to a double clear.

  • Rene Dittmer went last Corsica X having a single rail.


With the new format of only three riders continuing to the second round, it was a thrilling competition. The three German riders all jumped clear to seal the victory with only four faults carried on from the first round.


Ireland’s Strong Challenge for Second Place


Ireland’s team put up a solid fight, finishing second with a total of 8 faults. The Irish riders included Bertram Allen, Cian O'Conner, Shane Sweetnam, and Tom Wachmann. Their performance was marked by determination and teamwork, pushing Germany but ultimately falling short.


  • Bertram Allen jumped clear in the first round, but unfortunately had 8 faults in the second round.

  • Cian O'Conner showed his usual consistency under pressure and jumped yet another double clear for team Ireland.

  • Shane Sweetnam and James Kann Cruz jumped double clear.

  • Tom Wachmann had a great round with 4 faults in the first round aboard Tabasco de Toxandria.


Ireland’s 8 faults secured a well-deserved second place on the podium.


Belgium Completes the podium in Ocala.


Belgium rounded out the top three with a total of 12 faults. The Belgian team featured Nicola Philippaerts, Roy Van Beek, Emilie Conter, and Annelies Vorsselmans.


  • Nicola Philippaerts and his super mare Katanga v/h Dingeshof jumped clear in the first round and four faults in the second round.

  • Roy Van Beek stayed cool under pressure and jumped double clear with his top-horse Cavairo - H OLD

  • Emilie Conter and Portobella van de Fruitkorf jumped with 4 faults in both rounds.

  • Annelies Vorsselmans had 4 faults in the first round riding Trezeguet.


Their 12 faults over two rounds were enough to secure third place, completing the podium of the nations cup stage in Ocala.
