The CSI5* Al Shaqab Cup Grand Prix delivered an exhilarating display of showjumping over two rounds with one jump-off at 1.60m. Among them, Cyrine Cherif stood out by delivering an absolutely flawless performance aboard Triple T Calamando Blue. Her triple clear rounds secured a well-deserved victory in this prestigious event.

The Challenge of the Al Shaqab Cup Grand Prix

The Grand Prix was structured over two demanding rounds, culminating in a jump-off that tested both horse and rider under pressure between Cyrine and Faleh.

Cyrine's ability to navigate this course without penalties in all three rounds was a remarkable achievement. Her performance demonstrated not only technical skill but also a deep connection with her horse, Triple T Calamando Blue.

Standout Performances on the Podium

While Cherif took the top spot, the competition was fierce. Faleh Suwead Al Ajami, riding Wathnan Quatro, secured second place with a strong performance that included two clear rounds and though a faster time in the jump-off, he unfortunately had 4 faults.

Completing the top three was American rider Kristen Vanderveen. Riding Bull Run's Jireh she had 1 fault for time in the first round and a flawless second round.

What Made Cherif’s Win Special

Cyrine has been riding Triple T Calamando Blue since he was only 7 years old, building him up every step of the way to finally reach the highest level of the sport. This was their first time competing at 1.60m level and their first time in a 5* Grand Prix.

This result is a testament to the great partnership between rider and horse and I think we can expect much more from this pair in the future months!

The Importance of the Al Shaqab Cup in Show Jumping

The Longines Arena at Al Shaqab in Doha plays a huge role in the show jumping calendar, hosting 10 weeks of competition to start off the season. Week 1 was a 4* competition, while the remaining 9 weeks are 5* competitions.

With one week of 5* competition left, it will be exciting to see who walks away with the win in the final 5* Grand Prix of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026!
